Para Mail Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
Summary
Para Mail is a desktop application that runs on your own computer. Your Gmail data is accessed by the app on your device and stays on your device. We operate no servers that receive, store or process your Google user data.
Data we access
With your permission, Para Mail requests the Google scope https://mail.google.com/ plus your basic account email (openid, email). It uses this access only to provide the features you use in the app: listing your inbox, opening messages, replying, sending new messages, and marking opened messages as read.
How data is handled
- Messages are fetched directly from Google's Gmail API by the app running on your computer and displayed only to you, locally.
- Your sign-in token is stored on your computer (macOS Keychain, or a file readable only by your user account on other systems).
- Message content is not stored on disk by the app and is not sent to us or to any third party.
- No analytics, telemetry, advertising, or remote logging of any kind.
- Signing out revokes the app's access at Google and deletes the token from your computer. You can also revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Sharing
We do not sell, transfer or share Google user data. Because data never leaves your device except to Google itself, it is not available to us or to anyone else.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Para Mail's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Limited Use disclosure
- Google user data is used only to provide and improve the user-facing email features of Para Mail visible in the app.
- It is not transferred to others, except as necessary to provide those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to users.
- It is not used for serving advertisements, including retargeting, personalized or interest-based ads.
- No human reads your data, unless you give affirmative consent for specific messages, it is needed for security purposes, or it is required to comply with applicable law.
- It is not used to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
